As a Saskatchewan girl, these Creston winters are like a dream. Out my office window, I can see more grass than snow, and the thermometer tells me we've spent more time above zero than below it this winter. It isn't all perfect, I don't know if I'll ever get used to the grey skies for most of the season, and the humidity in the air chills me to the bone. So even though it's only January 30, I am already thinking about and planning for summer. Bring on the sunny skies, the heat, and the summer events!!
Once again AM Event Coordination is planning to put on some Outdoor Movie Nights here in town to help keep the kids (and their parents!) occupied. I have been looking forward to bringing these back since the equipment went into storage. There is just something about seeing all those happy faces sprawled across the grass, a little community sharing some laughter, some snacks and movie on a beautiful summer evening. I've met so many more people in town since that last movie night in August 2018, and I am really looking forward to connecting with new friends and acquaintances at the movies this summer. The only challenge will be choosing movies for the 2019 summer season! You can bet I'll be looking for input from the masses on this year's selection, so if your favourtite didn't make it to the inflatable screen last year, or if you really want to re-watch Disney's The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast, or Disney's-Pixar's Toy Story, or Back to the Future, I would love some feedback! I am constantly trying to improve on what I've already done, so any advice or critiques following last year's movies that you haven't already shared is also really appreciated. The goal is to hold events for the community, so listening to what the community has to say is vital to the success of the event.
And if you're not really interested in the family-friendly movies, do not feel left out! Big things are in the works, including another Ladies Night Outdoor Movie. Last year, I had a blast watching Dirty Dancing (for the first time ever!) with thirty-five of the most fun ladies in Creston, and for this year, I'm thinking we need to go even bigger, and better, and more fun (is that even going to be possible?! The ladies who were singing and dancing along to the show last year, I am looking at you for the extra fun factor!). So again, I'm seeking input on just what movie to offer, and don't worry, it does not have to be a chick flick to make for a great Ladies Night! Or maybe you're a Creston man who felt left out of the fun, and all you want to do is to watch Grease while surrounded by all the gorgeous ladies? Let me know, and we definitely don't have to restrict the ticket sales to only women!
So let me know! What movies do you want to see? How can I change these Outdoor Movie Nights to better suit your social calendar? I'd love to hear what you have to say!!
AND Don't forget! You can rent the equipment and hold your very own Outdoor Movie Night!! Contact me for details and book now to ensure the equipment is available for your next party or event!
See you at the movies!
Well it's official, the has come for AM Event Coordination to expand! With all the great things happening over the spring and summer of 2019, I am seeking someone to help with current contracts and events, with an opportunity to seek out and create your own awesome events!
This position will start out as part-time, with potential to increase to full time hours in the summer. There are a lot of evenings and weekends involved, especially as we move into the summer months, so the right candidate has to be open to that.
I am looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual, able to work equally well alone and as part of a team. Customer service skills and positive attitude are a must, as is the ability to problem solve in a high-pressure setting.
If this sounds like you or someone you know, please send a resume and cover letter to AMEventCoordination@outlook.com, or hit the button below! Accepting application until 4:00 MST on January 25th, 2019!
Following an incredibly busy December, I am so grateful for all the new clients, friends and connections 2018 brought, and am looking forward to (an already busy!) 2019.
Although it is only January 3rd, it feels as though the month has already flown by. In less than two weeks, I'll be in Calgary, taking part in The Wedding Fair, and hoping to share everything Creston has to offer with a room full of gorgeous brides. I am so excited about showcasing this amazing town, and the amazing people and businesses in it!!
The spring and summer are already filling up with some exciting events and parties, and I've been working hard on the details for those. So hard in fact, that I am currently seeking to get some help! So if you know someone who is passionate about parties, loves to make people happy, and who can stay cool in a crisis, please let them know I am in the initial stages of hiring! Having a team to help create, facilitate and coordinate awesome events opens up a whole new world of party possibilities, and I am so thrilled and grateful that I've gotten the support I have, all leading to growth!
I have a few events in the early planning stages that I am almost too excited about to keep quite, but they aren't quite at the sharing stage yet. As soon as I am able though, I'll be sharing the big news!
Thank you to this community, to my clients, to everyone who has supported me in 2018, I cannot wait to party with you in 2019.
Amanda, along with her team, coordinates, facilitates and creates awesome events in and around the Creston Valley. Through her business, AM Event Coordination, she strives to create awesome experiences and memories through the creation and execution of quality events.
